BILOXI -- Eddie Vernita Fletcher, 36, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Fletcher was born in Shreveport, La., and had been a resident of Biloxi for 12 years. She was the owner of a gift business and a member of the Freewill Missionary Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. She was a Red Cross volunteer at Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center and a member of the PTA at Beauvoir Elementary.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Killingsworth; and a brother, Kelvin Jenkins.
Survivors include her husband, Roderick Fletcher of Biloxi; three daughters, Jessica Lashunta Fletcher, Jasmine Trene Fletcher and Jamelle Vernita Fletcher, all of Biloxi; her mother, Eddie Lee Killingsworth; two sisters, Hettie Killingsworth and Katie Killingsworth, all of Shreveport; four brothers, Dave Jenkins of Plano, Texas, Donald Jenkins of Dallas, Steven Killingsworth of Lancaster, Texas, and Virgil Killingsworth of Mesquite, Texas.
A service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Freewill Missionary Baptist Church in Ocean Springs with burial in Biloxi National Cemetery. The Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
