John Thomas Hansen, 54, of 228 Henry Street, Portsmouth, died at 3:45 a.m. today in a Portsmouth hospital. He was a native of Portsmouth and a son of the late William J. and Mrs. Kate Gilroy Hansen.

He was employed in the Naval Shipyard and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, and St. Paul's Athletic Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Fahey Hansen, one step-daughter, Mrs. Amelia Sterling Green, of Baltimore, Md., and three grandchildren.

The body was removed to Richardson and Foster Funeral Home where funeral arrangements will be announced later.

John Thomas Hansen ---- Funeral services for John Thomas Hansen, 54, who died in a Portsmouth hospital Friday morning, were held at St. Paul's Church at 10 o'clock this morning.

The Rev. Leo P. Creamer, assistant pastor, celebrated the Requiem High Mass. The Rev. L. Joseph Baran and the Rev. Francis Bowler, assistant pastors, were present in the sanctuary.

Burial services were held at St. Paul's Cemetery, conducted by Father Bowler.

Pallbearers were: R. E.. J. O'Connor, Gregory V. Miano, Andrew Priestly, Samuel T. Tisdale, John McDonald, Edward J. Rakowski, Alton Thompson and William O'Shaughnessy.

Note: John was the son of William J. Hansen.
