John H. McCord, died at his residence in Vandalia, July 5, 1870. Mr. McCord was born in Georgia in 1801, and emigrated to Bond county in 1820, where he lived until last October when because of feeble health he moved to Vandalia. sons. J. N. and D. C. McChord live in Vandalia. Some ten days before he was taken sick his all gathered here for the first time in 14 years. Julia H. McCord of Minnesota, Mrs. E. Holem of Iowa and Mrs. Nettie H. Davis of Odell, Ill., with two brothers were spending the day at his home when he was taken sick. His remains were taken to Bethel. Bond County, Ill. for burial.
