Alice Florence, daughter of Isaac and Margaret Truex, was born at the family home 4 miles west of Delphos on May 18, 1880 and grew to womanhood in that community. It was there she was united in marriage with Thomas W. Rockhold on February 16, 1899. To this union was born a daughter Freda and a son Wade.
In 1901 the family moved to the Niles vicinity where they lived until 1927. They moved to the present home 3 miles east of Solomon. Her husband passed away August 27, 1951. she is survived by her son Wade of the home and her daughter Freda Beck and son in law Arthur Beck of solmon; two sisters, Mrs. I.W. Ferris of Delphos and Mrs. H. Bohannon of Wilcox, Arizona; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary in Salina. Rev. John Baker will be in charge. Interment will be in the Delphos Cemetery beside her husband.
