Robert Cecil Carter, 46, son of Judge W.F. Carter and the late Mrs. Annie Hollingsworth Carter, of this city, died Sunday about noon following a few hours illness, said to have been due to cerebral hemorrhage.

Mr. Carter was born and reared in this city and was a World War Veteran and Master Mason and took an active interest in the civic and fraternal welfare of the city, and after accepting a position with the Home Owners Loan Corporation was transferred to Tennessee in 1934 and resided in Memphis. At the time of his death he was head of the regional tax office of that organization.

He was married to Miss Marie Durbin who survives him together with one son Charles Edwin and one daughter Mary Katherine, his father Judge W.F. Carter of this city, five brothers Rev. J.H. Carter, D.D. of Anderson, S.C. and Walter W. Carter of San Antonio, Texas, W.Frank Carter Jr., W.H. Carter and Archie Carter all of this city, and one sister Mrs. J. H. McSween, on Timmonsville, S.C. all of whom were here for the funeral rites.
