She was born October 13, 1925, in Breckenridge, TX to Bessie and Dink Burrell.
Her family moved to Big Spring in 1929, and she graduated from Big Spring High School in 1942.
She married Jesse D. Kelley on July 15, 1949, in Eastland, TX. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1984. She had one brother, Buddy Burrell, and one sister, Elizabeth Carpenter, whom also preceded her in death.
She was a member of Big Spring Senior Circle, Encouragers, and Trinity Baptist Church.
She attended Big Spring Business College and in 1944, worked at the Big Spring Bombardier School and later at Cosden Refinery for several years. She began her civil service career with the federal government in 1965, at White Sands Missile Range in Las Cruces, NM, moving back to Big Spring in 1966 to continue her career at Webb Air Force Base. With the base closure in 1977, she transferred to Ft. Hood in Killeen, TX, where she retired in 1981, returning to Big Spring.
She is survived by her son: Gary Kelley and his wife Tancie of Big Spring; her daughter: Dru Heinatz and her husband Jeff of Alpine; three grandchildren, Tim Rigdon and his wife Sheri of Austin, Jarrod Heinatz of San Angelo, and Jesseca Heinatz of Alpine; two great granddaughters of Austin; and niece: Joanne Guffey and her husband Jim of LaPine, Oregon.
