Dr. W. C. Hicklin

CHESTER, Apr. 6. - The funeral services for Dr. William Cloud Hicklln, 48. prominent Chester county citizen, who died around midnight Saturday night at Columbia hospital of Influenza following an appendicitis operation were conducted at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon from the home of his mother, Mrs. James R. Hicklln at Richburg, eastern Chester county, with the Rev. J. M. Forbis, pastor of the Great Falls Presbyterian church, officiating, after which the interment was made in the Union Associate Reformed Presbyterian church cemetery.

Dr. Hicklin was a World War 1 veteran, having seen service in France, being a member of the Eighty-first Division. He attended Clemson college. For 20 years he operated the drug store for Dr. Reptimus Jordan at Richburg and when it burned he went to Great Falls, where for a number of years he had operated the Republic Pharmacy up until his death. He was widely known In medical circles in the Carolinas. Dr. Hicklin was a native, of the Richburg community, being a son of Mrs. James R. Hicklin and the late Mr. Hicklin.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Plumie Wylie Hicklin of Great Falls; his mother, Mrs. James R. Hicklin of Richburg; and by three brothers and three sisters , Charley P Hicklin, lke K. Hicklin, and Gus Hicklin, all of Richburg, and Mrs Robert R. Cochran of Laurel Hill, N. C. , Mrs. James Knox of Rodman and Mrs. James Davis of Monroe, N. C.

Dr Hicklin was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a Mason.
