Gene grew up at Glasco and graduated from Glasco High School in 1952. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He was united in marriage to Nancy K. GcGavran July 15, 1956 at Wells. They made their home at Glasco until moving to Minneapolis in 1961
He was a production supervisor at ElDorado Motor Corp. in Minneapolis, having been an employee of ElDorado from 1961 until it ceased operation in December, 1989.
Gene was a member of the First Christian Church at Glasco.
Survivors include his wife Nancy of the home; five daughters: Sharon K.(Clyde) Nelson, Salina; Karen (Jairo) Arias of Hays; Janet (Steve) Burt, Minneapolis; Jill Robbins of Hays and Jean Ann Robbins of Minneapolis: one brother, Dean Robbins of Olathe; one sister, Dollie Mae Andria, Beloit; and 12 grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Frank Robbins, and one sister, Marie Robbins.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 16, at Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial was in Highland Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Ottawa County Hospital of Minneapolis.
