Dr. Louis A. Holmes, 86, of Louisville, Ky., died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home in Louisville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday. Interment will be at noon on Saturday at the Vernon Cemetery.
Dr. Holmes practiced denistry many years at the former Muscatatuck State Development Center in Butlerville and in several Indiana towns, including Columbus and Jeffersonville. He was a graduate of Kokomo High School and the University of Louisville Dental School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. A native of Indianapolis, he retired to Richmond, Ind., and spent the last five years of his life in Louisville, Ky.
He is survived by a son, Douglass Holmes of Louisville, Ky., and a daughter, Martha Harding of West Lafayette, Ind.
