Capt. Miller was killed leading his Co. K, 57th N.C. Troops, in a counter-charge down Deep Run Creek. Lutheran Rev. Samuel D. Rothrock recovered the human remains to Salisbury, N.C. Capt. Miller is buried with parents John Cyrus Miller and Sophie Propst Miller, and wife Mary Elizabeth Hall Miller, and son, Rev. John Abner Locke Miller, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Franklin, Rowan County, North Carolina. Seek photo of grave. Prior to the Regulars, Capt. Miller served in the Rowan County CSA Militia with his brother-in-law, "Squire" Capt. Abner Leander Hall, CSA, who's first wife was Susan Rebecca Miller, Capt. Miller's sister. Capt. Miller's wife was "Squire" Hall's sister. Later in the Regulars, Hall was a Pvt. In the Rowan militia, I thing they guarded the Salisbury POW prison?
