Mary Ann was the daughter of Amos Jacques and Mary Bennett Jacques. She was married to Alexander Norman Dec 25, 1881. Alexander died in 1898. She later married Francis Allen in 1907. He died in 1935. She was the mother of Arthur 1882, Mary Jane 1885, Thomas Alfred 1887, Lillian Grey Norman 1895, Robert Grey Norman 1896, Beatrice Norman 1898, Percy James 1902, and Betsy Elsie Norman 1904. She also helped raise two children of Betsy. Colin Snow and Kathleen Norman after daughter Betsy died in 1933 from TB. Beatrice Norman died in 1902. Arthur died in 1917 in WW1 in France. Mary Jane died in 1939 in Manchester, Thomas Alfred died in 1956, Lillian died in 1975, Percy James died in 1984 and Robert died in 1952. She is buried in a plot owned by Kathleen Norman. Her parents and daughter Beatrice are buried in Welford Road Cemetery in Leicester. The other children are buried in Gilroes cemetery close to Mary Ann.

Two brothers, John A and Alfred are buried in the United States. William is buried in Leicester England . She had a sister Sarah Jane Jacques but haven't been able to find her. She was living in Leicester in 1918 according to a family letter.
