LaNette enjoyed going to school. She graduated from Bear Lake HIgh School in May of 1954.
When a Freshman, LaNette met a handsome young man, Merl Roberts. She would walk to the baseball field to watch him play baseball with the Lanark team. They had a lot of fun going together. They would go to games or to the Kit Kat. They could also go to the theater for a nickel. They dated for three years and then after LaNette was graduated from high school, they were married, October 8, 1954.
Merl and LaNette had three beautiful children, Marsha, Kelly Merl and Ricky John. Merl and LaNette loved their children very much. They were sealed as an eternal family in the Logan Temple, March 10, 1966.
LaNette has worked many places through the years; Kings, Allingers, Walton Feed, and the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. She was also a cook at the AJ Winters school.
Merl and LaNette served as Stake missionaries. Some of the callings LaNette has had in the church are; Stake Primary Secretary, Genealogy specialist, Visiting teacher. She takes her callings very seriously, always going out to visit teach by the first of the month. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and has taught her children and grandchildren through her words and example.
Merl and LaNette were called to work in the Logan Temple as ordinance workers and held several callings while there for seven and a half years. LaNette loved her temple calling and all of her temple family. It was a joy to her.
She dearly loved her family and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother to all of them. When Merl passed away she was very lonely but found comfort in crocheting dish rags for all of her children and grandchildren. She blessed all of their lives with her love and kindness. She passed away at her home in Montpelier Idaho.
