Edward Anderson, born May 10, 1753, was the son of Abraham and Anna (Collins) Anderson.

August 4, 1774 he married Mary Mayberry, daughter of Capt. Richard & Martha (Bolton) Mayberry. Edward served with Capt. Mayberry in the Revolutionary War. Capt. Richard Mayberry joined Capt. Samuel Knight's Company in June, 1775, and served as lieutenant through that year, as a coast guard on Casco Bay. Edward Anderson was the second lieutenant.

Upon his father's death, he came into possession of the family farm and in 1770 he built a house on a site selected by his father. Twenty years later, he exchanged the home farm (Maplewood farm AKA Anderson-Lord house) for his brother"s property near Windham Hill on the Portland Road (at the brow of the steep hill, just south of Pleasant River).

Edward is buried with is wife.
