William L. Beil, 89, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at home. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he lived in NJ and Sweden before moving to Upstate New York. Bill was a 1947 graduate of Syracuse Univ. An Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, he served in the Pacific Theater and was one of the charter donors to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. He retired from the Social Security Administration as an assistant manager. He was a member of Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church and also active with the Masons and Shriners. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, the former Lucille Sargent, in 2010. Surviving are his daughters, Marilynn (Steven) Schroeder of Fayetteville, Susan (John) DeWolf III of Chappaqua, and Nancy Beil of Camillus; sister, Louise Inga Salvaterra of Solvay; brother-in-law, Clealand (Barbara) Sargent of Watertown; grandchildren, Kristen Schroeder of Philadelphia, PA, Heather Schroeder of Boston, MA, Jennifer (Leo) Farber of Washington, DC, Rebecca (Michael) MacGregor of Washington, DC, and John IV and Melissa DeWolf, both of Chappaqua. There will be no calling hours. Services will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse. Arrangements are by Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's memory to Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 126 S. Terry Rd., Syracuse, NY 13219 or to Wakan-Hubbard Lodge F&AM #154, 1822A Penfield Rd., Penfield, NY 14625.
