Note: Dorothy was my mother's girlfriend and a member of the Gospel Chapel Church, Statesville & Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, where my family also went to church. I have vivid memories of being at the Carrico home in Statesville, NC, when Dorothy became very ill. She died at the tender age of 33 of cancer. Dorothy loved wearing her red high heels when she and my mom went downtown. My brother and I had wonderful times playing together with their children. I remember the old trailer camper where we played, parked at their house in Statesville. Dorothy had a big cookie jar that was always tempting for us kids. I was glad to talk with Woody a few years ago, before he passed.
