Toxey was born 1887. Most of the 1890 US census population schedules were badly damaged by a fire in the Commerce Department Building in January 1921. Both of his parents died in the 1890. So, it is hard to find records listing Toxey and his parents. However, Toxey's parents had four children listed on the 1880 census. Fortunately, the children were kept together after their parents died so that Toxey appeared with his older siblings on the 1900 census. This is how we know who his parents are: George and Fanny Haas.
