my great aunt
Father: George Washington Sharpe
Mother: Rosanna A. Wooten Sharpe
Married: Thomas "Tom" Vance Haynes (B: 02 Aug 1886, Iredell, NC - D: 13 Aug 1965, Statesville, Iredell, NC) S/o Thomas Haynes and Rebecca Evans
Children: Odas Haynes, Lake Norman, NC, George T. Haynes, Harmony, NC, Harding Augustus Haynes, US Veteran, World War II, Vocation: Carpenter, (B: 01 Oct 1921, Harmony, Iredell, NC - 18 Oct 18 2006, age 85, Statesville, Iredell, NC; Funeral: Sat 11 PM, 21 Oct 2006, Winthrop Friends Meeting, Rev. Harold Salmon & Rev. Milton Jordan officiating, Harmony, Iredell, NC; Interment: Winthrop Friends Meeting Cemetery, Harmony, NC), Annerbell Creason, Beulah Lessie Haynes Templeton, Artensie Joyce, Lewis Haynes, Johnny Haynes
Note: Mary Magdalene Ellis, my mother, Roseanna's niece, commented, "My grandfather (Johnny Dodredge Campbell) and my dad (George Bradley Campbell), built the house where Aunt Rosanna & Uncle Tommy Haynes lived. I can see Aunt Roseanna wearing her cotton stockings. She made a cherry pie with custard over it that would melt in your mouth. The cherries came from her trees. I remember her cooking even after she became blind."
Note: Lessie Campbell Williams: Aunt Roseanna had 7 children; four boys and three girls. Anna Bell was married and Beulah hadn't much experience at cooking - and it took a lot of cooking. Aunt Rosanna was a great cook and seamstress. She could cut out patterns and make dresses. Uncle Tommy and Aunt Roseanna never had a car and would walk to George Campbell's house, Roseanna's brother-in-law. Sometimes George would take them back in his truck with flour and other groceries. Aunt Roseanna worked hard. Grandma Sharpe gave Roseanna the land where she lived and Georgia, her sister, got the land where Dr. Trivette built the hospital, and later sold it to cousin Brice Campbell.
