Glendale -- The community was saddened by the news of the home-going of Mrs. Mary Ethridge. She was all that can be implied in the terms "wife and mother." The poet, Edward Guest, spoke well when he said: "She mothered five! When pleasures called she said, "I dare not leave my babies to be fed by strangers' hands; besides they are so small I must be near to answer when they call." Mrs. Ethridge will be sadly missed also by the Baptist church, of which she was a devoted worker since early childhood.
Mary Davis' first husband was Chester Bailey. They had one son Earl. Her second husband was Robert Eugene Ethridge born Jan 15, 1888. They married in 1910.
They had four children:
Frank, Beulah, Gordon and Robert Eugene
