Adeline was the daughter of Harry Burbridge & Flossie (Bailey) Davis.

She married Lowell Emerson "Buddy" Meyer at her parents home in Prairie Creek, Indiana. She was the loving Mother of Lynn Douglas Meyer and Alan Ray Meyer.

CLAY CITY - Adeline Meyer, 55, of Clay City died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She retired in 1984 from Meyer Insurance Agency and had taught at schools in Indiana. She was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Terre Haute to Harry B. Davis and Flossie Bailey Davis. Survivors include her husband, Lowell E. "Buddy" Meyer; two sons, Lynn D. Meyer of Vincesses and Alan R. Meyer of Zionsville; four grandchildren; two nieces, two nephews; and several other relatives. She graduated from Prairie Creek High School in 1941 and Indiana State University in 1944. She was a member of Clay County Insurance Association, Rebekah Lodge at Prairie Creek and Business Women's Club at Clay City, a member and secretary of Senior Citizens Housing Association at Clay City and a member and leader of 4-H Club for many years, a member of Church of Christ at Prairie Creek and also attended First United Methodist Church at Clay City where she taught Sunday school. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Zatterberg officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and until time of services Sunday.
