Mr. Barrett was born on February 16, 1947 in Atlanta, Ga. having lived in Abbeville since 1987. He was son of the late Helen Sue Morris Barrett. He was a retired employee from Robins Air Force Base Computer Analysis Air Force Reserve Command. He was of the Baptist faith and served his country with honor in the United States Air Force for 20 years.
Survivors include: wife-Debra Barrett of Abbeville, father-James Emmett Barrett, Jr. of Abbeville, daughter-Michelle Henson of Warner Robins, brother-Philip A. Barrett of Newnan, sister-Kathy Dawson of Rocky Mt., N. C., 1-grandson-Stephan Henson, several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
