Audrey Connor McCloskey, 91 of San Antonio, Texas went home to the Lord on February 2, 2011. Audrey was born in Abbeville, Louisiana on November 13, 1919 and was the 8th of 12 children born to Cleobule Joseph (CJ) and Nora Broussard Connor.

Audrey attended St. Mary's Parochial School, graduating from high school in 1938.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Anthony McCloskey, her parents; CJ and Nora Connor, her sisters; Nora May Connor and Goldie Boudreaux and her brothers; Wilmer, Francis, Felix, Ray, Roland, Roy and Raymond Connor.

Audrey married Anthony McCloskey in 1946. Anthony was an officer in the US Army and together they became world travelers living in Columbus, Ohio, Fort Lee, Virginia, Ingrades, France and Japan. Anthony retired as a Lt. Col. and they returned to San Antonio in 1967.

They were a united pair and quite avid bowlers and golfers. In later years, she traveled to Ireland to tour the land of her family roots and visit friends.

She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for over 40 years. As a member she volunteered her time assisting as the church book keeper, Eucharist minister as well as coordinating and participating in many church functions and fundraisers. She held her friendships with the congregation and pastoral staff and volunteers of St. Pius X especially dear.

Audrey was a volunteer with the American Red Cross as well as an active member of the Pastoral Council of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher and the Catholic Daughters of the America's.

She is survived by two brothers, Robert "Carl' and his wife, Irene Connor of San Antonio and brother Charles Connor of the Jesuits California Province, her sister-in-law Margaret McCloskey of Phoenix, Arizona, 15 nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews who hold her dear to their hearts.

A special thank you to the staff at Emeritus as Oakwell Farms for the devoted and loving care they gave her while she was in residence there. Audrey McCloskey touched many lives, she had a generous and pure heart, and her memory is a treasured and cherished gift.
