George T. Boyd, 79, of Marion Route 1, died Monday at his home at 5:30 a.m.
He is survived by his wife. Mrs. Anna Mae Boyd of Marion; five daughters, Mrs. Eldon Gilliland of Oakland, Ill., Mrs. Woodrow Stembridge of St. Louis, Mrs. Robert Wood of Evansville, Mrs. Clark Sullivan of Mattoon, Ill., and Mrs. Don Lester of Los Angeles, Calif.; four sons, William Boyd and Rev. Carl Boyd both of Evansville, Wilborn Boyd of Virginia Beach, Va., and Clifton Boyd of Louisville; A step-daughter, Mrs. Verble Woodside; two step-sons, L.C. Hazzard and Roy Hazzard, both of Marion, one brother, John Boyd of Phillipsburg, Kansas.
Services were held at Blackburn Church with the Rev. J.S. Woodall officiating and the Rev. James Boone and the Rev. Coleman McConnell assisting. Burial was in the church cemetery.
