Died from skull fracture after accidentally being struck by a car while crossing the street.

Son of William Patton Alexander, Sr. and Esma Lee Brown-Alexander.

THE CRITTENDEN PRESS ~ Jan. 16, 1942.

Lewis Clinton Alexander, 19, died at City Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind., following injuriess received the preceding Wednesday night when struck by a car on a downtown intersection. Details are meager with exception that Alexander, employed in the Indiana city, for the past several months, had left a lunch room and was crossing a street in the sub-zero weather when struck. The accident occured about six in the evening.
Son of Will and Mrs. Alexander, born in Crittenden, member of prominent family, the youth graduated from Shady Grove High School and was outstanding in athletics while in school.
Survivors in addition to the parents were three sisters, Imogene, Marilyn, and Anna Evelyn Alexander; three brothers, Braxton, Dick, Harold, and W.P., all of Crittenden.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at Blackburn Church with interment in church cemetery.
