Bernice Mae Walker, age 67, of Greeley, Colorado, died September 26, 2002, at North Colorado Medical Center. She was born on September 17, 1935, in rural Greeley, Colorado to Adam. P. and Martha (Bostron) Honstein. Bernice worked for Monfort of Colorado from 1964-1975 as an office manager, then Weld County Buildings and Grounds from 1975-1990, retiring from Weld County in 1990, and later with Zabka Farms for many years. Bernice was a true, hardworking farm girl, who took pride in her family and yard. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, cooking, crafts, and bowling in her younger years. She especially loved spending time with her husband, Don, and watching her two grandsons, Chad and Clint, show their horses. She is survived by her husband, Donald Walker of Greeley; her two daughters, Cindy Dyer and husband Calvin of Julesburg, CO; Diana Walker of Evans, CO, and two grandsons Chad Dyer of Eaton, CO and Clint Dyer of Julesburg, CO. She is also survived by a sister Verna Honstein and a brother, Bill Honstein, both of Greeley, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Bob Honstein. Services will be at 2:00 Friday at Allnutt Funeral Service/Macy Chapel, with interment at Linn Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 1:00-2:00 at Macy Chapel.
