Mrs. Suter Rites 2 P.M.Tuesday In Eakly Church
EAKLY, April 11.--(Special)--Mrs. H.B. Suter, 80, died at the farm home two miles north of Eakly at 9:50 p.m. Friday after an illness of two months. She had been in failing health for several years. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Methodist church of Eakly and burial was in the Sickles cemetery. J.F. Keith, pastor of the church, was assisted by Rev. Harry Keen in conducting the rites.
Clara Emmaline Teter was born in St. Clair county, Ill., Nov. 2, 1868. When she was 4 years old her parents moved to Kansas and located at Geuda Springs.
She was married to Phillip Z. Heckert July 3, 1890, at Geuda Springs. They came to Oklahoma in 1904 and located on a farm south west of Eakly. In 1918, because of the failing health of her parents, they moved to the Teter farm near Sickles. Mr. Heckert died Dec. 18, 1929.
Mrs. Heckert was married to H.B. Suter Dec. 10, 1934, at Anadarko. Mrs. Suter joined the Methodist church when a young woman and served as teacher and Sunday school superintendent. She was a member of the church at
Eakly at the time of her death.
Survivors include the husband, H.B. Suter; three stepsons, Ray and Russell Suter of Eakly and Paul Suter, Melston,Mont.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Arch, Saginaw, Mich.; Mrs. Phyllis Crotty, Eldorado, Ark., and Mrs. Virginia Kendrick, Colony, and two brothers, Lymon Teter, Mangum, and Clarence Teter, Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Ruth Hicks of Long Beach, who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Heckert when she was a girl, arrived a week ago and Paul Suter arrived by plane Sunday.
