WAYNE ROBERTS
Wayne P. Roberts went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after his journey with cancer. His loving wife was at his side.

Wayne was born to Dudley and Edrie Roberts in Genoa, Arkansas, on October 6, 1940. He was preceded in death by his father, Dudley Roberts; his wife, Rose Alexander Roberts; and granddaughter, Amanda Treece.

He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Treece Roberts, who he cherished and was his childhood sweetheart; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Preston and Tina Roberts, Patrick Roberts, and Charles and Vickie Treece, all of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Glen Pate of Mountain View, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Amanda Schmidt, Nathan Roberts, Malinda Harrison, Charles Treece III, Glen Pate, Jr., and Heather Smith; two great-grandchildren, Raeden Smith, and RaeLynn Treece; his mother, Edrie Roberts of Texarkana; two brothers, James Roberts and Albert Roberts; one sister, Patricia Williamson; one half-sister, Betty Bray; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Wayne graduated from Arkansas Senior High School where he was active with the Future Farmers of America. He attended college before joining the United States Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he returned to college and received his Associates Degree. After retiring from Red River Army Depot, he worked as a Security Guard for International Paper.

As a child, Wayne enjoyed spending time with his grandfather. He was a devoted father. While his sons were young he was a Cub Scout Leader. Wayne enjoyed hunting birds and squirrels, and fishing. He truly enjoyed raising a garden every year and sharing its bounty with his friends and family. He was a member of the NRA, a Licensed gunsmith, and after the death of his first wife he was active in several singles groups.

Wayne was a Christian and was a member of Buchanan First Baptist Church and was active with the Trinity Troopers at Trinity Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 7th at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Brazile and Rev. Charlie Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
