Death Takes Mac DAVIS

Mac M. DAVIS, 86, Fairfield Route 3, died at 5:30 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient since July 4.

DAVIS was a retired farmer. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

DAVIS spent most of his life in Jefferson and Washington Counties. He also farmed for several years in Minnesota.

He was born Oct. 23, 1886 near Beckwith in Jefferson County, the son of George and Mary McCormick DAVIS. He was reared and educated in this county and attended Parsons College.

He was married to Josephine F. GLOTFELTY June 11, 1912. She died Sept. 19, 1961. On Dec. 28, 1967, he was married to Helen BRAMMER WILLIAMSON, who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Mrs. James PUMROY, Ottumwa; George DAVIS, Fairfield; and the following stepchildren: S.R. WILLIAMSON, Fairfield; Henry WILLIAMSON, Memphis, Tenn.; and Mrs. L.J. MEDINA, Hollywood, Fla.

Other survivors are four grandchildren, four step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. One stepsister preceded him in death.

DAVIS was a member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church, singing in the choir for many years. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. He was also a member of the White Shrine and Keep Young Club.
