Patty A. Thomas, 63, of Clay City, IL died at 5:52 AM Friday, February 4, 2011 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

She was born December 24, 1947 in Flora, IL to Beryl & Lela (Howe) Sons. She married Sherman L. Thomas on August 3, 1967 in Clay City, IL.

She was a homemaker and her memberships included the following: member of Zif Baptist Church in Clay City, member and chaplain of Flora VFW Ladies Auxiliary, member and past president of Clay City VFW Auxiliary, a Red Cross volunteer, and a DAV volunteer.

Patty enjoyed being outdoors, sewing, reading, outdoor activities, resale shopping and family get togethers.

She is survived by her husband: Sherman Thomas; children: Danita Henderson & husband Steve, Greg Thomas & wife Susan, Daniel Thomas & wife Kim; sister: Donna Taylor & husband Richard; brother: Lowell Sons & wife Barbara; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother (Galen Sons), and a sister (Betty Caldwell).

Funeral services were held at Zif Baptist Church and burial followed in Zif Cemetery, Clay City.

Memorials may be made to Zif Baptist Church.
