Homer Lee "Buck" Spears, a resident of Porterville, CA passed away in Visalia, CA on Thursday, March 22, 2007. He was born in Steve, AR in 1916 to the late John and Maude Cox Spears. He moved to Porterville with his wife and first child in 1943. He coached Porterville Bobby Sox baseball for 10 years. He was a member of the Democrats of California.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Johnson of Porterville, CA, Betty Miller of Cameron Park, CA; son, John Spears of Porterville, CA; daughter Renee Spears of Sacramento, CA; sister Ova Collier of Porterville, CA, brother Owen Spears of Porterville, CA; six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Spears.
