Funeral services were held Sunday at 4:00 p. m. in the Cottage Hill Methodist Church for Rush Lee, 70, Celina man who died in a Sherman hospital at 12:12 p. m. Saturday, July 24. Conducting ministrers were the Rev. Kenneth Thomas, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Celina, and the Rev. W. J. Epting of Sherman, a former pastor of the First Baptist Church, Celina. Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery, directed by Helms. Pallbearers were Clarence Webster, Leslie Jones, Lee Rucker, Carl Perry, Arnold Ballard and Claud Loftice.
Mr. Lee was born in Tennessee April 10, 1884, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lee, and moved to Texas in 1901. He was a retired farmer. On March 26, 1905 Mr. Lee and Miss Elsie Callahan were married. She died on March 13, 1922. On Sept. 9, 1924 he was married to Miss Mertice Holbrook, who survives. He was a member of Methodist Church. Surviving children of his first marriage include five sons, L. H. Lee, Cisco, Texas; Frank A. Lee, Kansas City, Mo.; Earl M. Lee, Fort Worth; Guy Lee, Dallas, and Lewis Marshall Lee, Charleston, S. C. Two children died in infancy. Also surviving in addition to his wife are four grandchildren and one brother, Ira Lee, Celina.
