Research note

A 13 Jun 1899 newspaper account of the death of "Mrs. Ida L., wife of A. C. Campbell" on 7 Jun 1899 claims that her survivors included "her babe, aged a few hours"—referring to Fred Munger Campbell. This implied date of birth is not correct. Reasonably reliable secondary sources (1900 census, WWI draft registration, Social Security Death Index) agree that he was born on 19 May 1899.
