Sheldon-Graveside services for Sam R. Hogle, 92, of Sheldon, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sheldon Cemetery. The Rev. Debora White will officate.
There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation and American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Knapp Funeral Home, Sheldon.
Mr. Hogle died Monday (Dec. 9, 1996) at Magnolia Wood Health Care in Watseka.
He was born July 8, 1904, in Sheldon, the son of Alpha W. and Hattie M. Gooding Hogle.
His wife, the former Laura Mae Wesner, whom he married April 11, 1936, in Sheldon, died Nov. 16, 1994.
Mr. Hogle was a carpenter for Light Brothers and worked for 26 years for Sipe Lumber Company, both of Sheldon.
Surviving are one daughter, Susan Hogle of Sheldon; one sister, Edna Danielson of Farmington, MO; one grandson, Randel Hendrickson of Davenport, IA; and one great grandaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Hogle was a graduate of Sheldon High School and attended Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington.
He was a member of Sheldon United Methodist Church.
