MONMOUTH - Lois Pearl Albert, 70, of Monmouth died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at her home.

Born Nov. 13, 1932, in Macomb to Forest V. and Ina May Day Senders, she married Robert DeFord on Oct. 21, 1949. She later married Dale Eugene Albert on Dec. 21, 1967. He died Sept. 4, 1986.

She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter and two brothers.

Surviving are four daughters, Marjorie (and Jim) Woods of Canton, Roberta (and Everett) VanSkike of Smyrna, Tenn., Esther (and Dan) Murphy of Hollister, Mo., and Connie Albert of Davenport, Iowa; four sons, Ronnie (and Freda) DeFord and Jeff DeFord, both of Monmouth, Joe (and Heather) DeFord of Oquawka and Tim DeFord of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; five sisters, Eva Hughes of Mankato, Minn., Alice Welch of Monmouth, Francis Pounds of Helena, Mont., Anna Ruth Riley of Knoxville and Florence Jacobs of Galesburg; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one stepdaughter.

She was a retired beautician. She also had been a cafeteria cook at Willits School.

She was an active member of First Christian Church in Monmouth, where she served as chairwoman of the Missionary Circle, deaconess, on the church board, the kitchen committee and as an office volunteer. She also served on the building committee for the new church and was photographer of the church as it progressed.

She also was a member of the Red Hatters Club, the ONO Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at her church, where family will receive friends two hours before. The Rev. Jim Epperson will officiate. Friends may call Thursday afternoon at Turnbull Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roseville Cemetery in Roseville.

Memorials may be made to her church.
