Revolutionary soldier Jonathan Crane enlisted May 1777 and served three years as a private under Capt. Willis Clift and Col. Samuel Willis, from Connecticut. Engaged in the battle of Trenton. He applied for a pension in 1818: residence then in Chenango Co., N.Y. Age 61-pension allowed. His regiment also served in N.Y. and along the Hudson River at Stony Point and the raid on Danbury. He was the son of Ebenezer and Sarah (Curtis) Crane.
