Rosella Marcella Bucklin Payton, 94, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 5, 2011 at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.

Rose was born December 4, 1916 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to James Irvin Bucklin and Sophie Olsen Bucklin. She grew up and attended schools in Emmett, ID, and graduated from Emmett High School.

On September 25, 1938, Rose married Virgil Payton in Emmett and together they raised two sons. Virgil passed away November 3, 1987. Rose lived in Seattle until 2002, when she moved to Idaho Falls to be closer to family.

Rose worked as a mother and a homemaker. She enjoyed making clothes for herself and her family. She was a member of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include a son, Virgil "Gene" (Renee) Payton, of Idaho Falls; two sisters: Shirley Woody of Lynnwood, WA and Harriette Bucklin Depis of KS; brother, Leo Bucklin, of Seattle, WA; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil; sister, Helen Smith; brother, James Irvin Bucklin, Jr.; and her son, Ronald Irvin Payton.

Graveside Services -- Wed., February 9, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Fielding Memorial Park.

The family will visit with friends at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue) from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to leaving for the cemetery.
