Lila died on Thursday morning, February 3, 2011 at the Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont, Minnesota.
Lila May Colebank was born on August 12, 1923 to Elgie Thomas and Mildred (Morton) Colebank in Watonwan County, Minnesota. She lived with her parents until they died at a young age. She then lived with her grandmother who also died young. Lila lived with her sister until her sister's husband died at which time she was placed in the Faribault State Hospital, St. Peter State Hospital, Mankato REM from 1976 till 1979, Mankato Colonial Squares form 1979 till 1999, Barb Lindeman for one year, Monterey Manor (Shelly and Dave Lubben) from 2000 till 2010 and then the Trimont Health Care Center. Lila loved her providers and had become part of their extended family. She enjoyed visiting, working with her hands and folding cloths. Lila was a pleasant and good humored person but at times could be bossy and demanding. She liked birds especially one she called "Pretty Bird" and fish. Lila also enjoyed music, flowers, the Lawrence Welk Show and her red hat.
Survivors include her many special friends, niece, nephew and other relatives and friends.
Lila is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two sisters, Mabel and Louise; two brothers, Ernest and James and other relatives.
