He was born in Kokomo on October 29, 1934, to the late Fred and Nora (Bontrager) Otto. After Paul's mother died at an early age his father married Mattie.
On December 19, 1981 he married Nancy Lorenz Wright. She survives.
Also surviving are seven daughters, Karen (Ken) Groh of Thompson Falls, Montana, Shirley (Steve) Shriner of Goshen, Jean Otto of Posen, Illinois, Joy (Steve) Hite of Goshen, Chris (Ted) Stanley of Columbia City, Cathy Schwartz of Goshen, and Carmen (Cole) Christensen of Bowling Green, Ohio; two sons, Keith Wright and Kevin (Jill) Wright, both of Topeka; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Yoder of Mendon, Michigan, Martha (Elva) Miller of Ligonier, and Clara (Levi) Bontrager of Goshen; and two brothers, Lewis (Katie) Otto and Floyd Otto, both of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Fannie Simison and Edna Neal; and a granddaughter, Erika Wright.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Otto worked at Starcraft Marine for 38 years and retired as a supervisor. After retirement he was a driver for the Amish. He was an avid bowler for many years and loved mushroom hunting.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 7, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Tyler of Grace Point Presbyterian Church, Nappanee, will officiate. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery, Topeka.
