Singer, Actor. After graduation from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Stanley Morner moved to Chicago where he studied opera and appeared at theaters and supper clubs. In 1939, he signed a contract with Warner Brothers where his name was changed to Dennis Morgan. He played opposite Ginger Rogers in "Kitty Foyle" (1940) for which Rogers won an Oscar and Morgan received the New York Critic's Award. Dennis Morgan was one of the top male stars of the decade. At the peak of his success he was one of the highest paid artists in Hollywood. After his best friend, Jack Carson, died from cancer in 1963, Morgan became a national spokesman and fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
