Andrew Jackson, 97 Years Old, Dies in Wyoming Wednesday

Andrew Jackson, 97 years of age, for over 25 years a resident of Greeley, died Wednesday in Wheatland, Wyo., at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. W. W. Phelps, with whom he has made his home for the past two years. Mr. Jackson came here from Iowa, where he had been a farmer in his younger days. He had numerous friends and acquaintances here, and is survived by four generations of children, having four or five great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Jackson was born July 29, 1832, in New York, and on April 4, 1852 was married in Illinois to Miss Sarah Newton. Ten of their 15 children grew to adulthood, and seven of them survive him. The living children are Mrs. Lucy Richardson and Oscar Jackson of Greeley, Mrs. Effie Harring of Glendale, Calif., Fred Jackson of Long Beach and Ben Jackson of Compton, Calif., Frank E. Jackson of Kellerton, Ia., and Mrs. Ella Phelps of Wheatland.
Mrs. Jackson died in Greeley, Aug. 7, 1917, at the age of 79 years and 11 months.
Funeral service for Mr. Jackson will be at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Baptist church, with Rev. Fred Baldus in charge. Interment at Linn Grove.
