Funeral services were held Saturday, November 9, in Greeley Coloratd for Mrs. Maggie Woodall-Clifton, 76 who died November 5, in her home there. Harold Woodall a son and Wendall a grandson both of this city attended the funeral.
Mrs. Clifton was born near Osage, Iowa one of the nine children of David and Sarah Patterson Beckner. Her parents and all but one sister and two brothers have proceeded her in death.
The family moved from Iowa to South Dakota where she met and married M. L. Woodall. The came to Iowa in 1894 to make their home. To this union four children were born, Harold Woodall, of this city, being the only one still living. Her husband died in 1913 and in 1925 she married Frank L. Clifton of Greeley, Colorado, where she has since made her home.
She had been ill with pneumonia, and after recovering, suffered later two strokes which caused her death.
Mrs. Clifton leaves her husband, her son Harold, a sister Mrs. Jennie (Sarah Virginia Crane) of South Dakota and two brothers Bert and Harmon Beckner. There are ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren besides other relatives and a host of friends both here and in Greeley.
She was an active church worker for the Methodist Church. For several years after gong to Greeley, it was customary for Mr. and Mrs. Clifton to entertain several college students, who could not go home, to a dinner on Thanksgiving. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
