Anna C. Bird, 94, a Sidney resident 25 years, died Tuesday, May 2, at Lodgepole Plaza Nursing Home. Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Maynard C. Wellington officiating. Graveside services and burial will be in Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley, Colo. at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The family requests memorials be given to Lodgepole Plaza Nursing Home in lieu of flowers. Anna Christina Bird was born April 3, 1889, in Sidney, a daughter of Rasmus and Margritha Jessen. She graduated from Sidney High School and continued her education to become a teacher. She married Floyd Bird in September, 1910. He preceded her in death. She taught in Fort Collins, Colo., from 1948 to 1957. After retiring in 1957, she moved to Sidney. Survivors include a son, Harold D. Bird, Sidney; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Gehrig and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. May 4, 1983; [no source noted]
