ROY – Yvonne Grover Cole Weeks, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2011, at the Washington Terrace Nursing Home. She was born on June 30, 1926, in East Garland, Utah, a daughter of Wildon Layfayette and Essie Josephine Sorensen Grover.
She graduated from Bear River High School, and had lived in Ogden, Sunset, and Roy throughout her life.
On September 5, 1946, she married Maurice W. Cole, in East Garland, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They were married for 36 years. He passed away on January 21, 1981. She later married Joseph Weeks on December 11, 1996. He passed away on June 13, 2007, after 11 years of marriage.
Yvonne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served faithfully in many callings including Stake and Ward Relief Society President, President of the Primary, Visiting Teacher, and she was an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple. She served a mission in Spokane, Washington, and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She was a professional level seamstress, and loved to write stories. She grew beautiful roses.
Yvonne is survived by daughters; Vicky Owen, North Ogden, Barbara (Pierce) Goodman, Tucson, Arizona, and sons; Danny (Jenny) Cole, Pleasant View, Steve (Lisa) Cole, Chicago, Illinois, Michael Cole, Layton, and Ron (Paea) Cole, Farmington, 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother; Durrell Sorensen, Grover, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother; Rex, and son; Bob.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the North Ogden 3rd Ward, 386 East Elberta Drive, North Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.., prior to services at the church.
Interment in the Washington Heights Memorial Park.
