Lorain- Mrs. Florence Childress, 68, of 2150 Elyria Ave., died yesterday at 12:55 p.m. in St. Joseph Hospital, after a brief illness.
She had been a resident of Lorain 14 years and was a emmber of St. Matthews AME Church.
Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Lee Anna Shedd, Mrs. Mrs. Mary Shedd, Mrs. Bessie Johnson and Mrs. Sarah Head, all of Lorain; three sons, JOhn of Jackson, Miss., Alex of California, and Earl of Lorain; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Martin of CHicago, Mrs. Ada Gauss and Mrs. Minnie Walker of Mississippi.
Friends may call at the Finley Mortuary. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Matthews Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
