Sten Anderson, 72, of Moore Haven, Florida, formerly of Wanatah, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011.
He was born September 10, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Arvid & Astrid (Carlsson) Anderson.
Sten had worked in the Billing Department of Peoples Gas for over 35 years.
He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, claimed to be a member of the "Swedish Viking Club", and found success in life with his hard nosed pragmatic style.
On December 10, 1963, he married Marnell Underwood who survives along with children: Steve (Annalee) Anderson of Wanatah, Genise (Michael) Dunning of Union Mills, Mark Anderson of Wanatah, Alan Anderson of Wanatah, Valerie (Brian) Bartels of Pittsburgh, PA, sister, Linea Anderson of Clare, IL, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cathy Pryor in 1999 and two grandsons.
Visitation Sunday, February 6, 2011, from 1 – 5 PM.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 7, 2011, 1:00 PM from Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN, to Graceland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
