CUMBERLAND,MARYLAND -- Paul Howard Brotemarkle, 84, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010, at his home.
Born April 23, 1926, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Brotemarkle was the son of the late Roy W. Brotemarkle and Margaret (Farris) Brotemarkle. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Brotemarkle and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Paul retired from the United States Army serving during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War with 22 years of service. He also retired from the United States Postal Service and was a former member of the Fort Cumberland Post #13 American Legion.
Paul is survived by his son, Jeffery H. Brotemarkle and his wife, Linda, Cumberland, MD; and Wade L. Brotemarkle and his wife, Melanie, Bedford, PA; his daughter, Paula J. Barney and her husband, Don, Augusta, WV; as well as ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A committal service was conducted at the Maryland Veterans’ Cemetery at Rocky Gap on Friday, December 3, 2010, at 10:00 A.M., with Chaplain Bob Lloyd officiating.
