Noel Douglas Mills was the sixth child of Felix Lesley Mills and Lela May McKee. He went to Orwood School. He married Mary Elizabeth Fisher on Apr. 4, 1936. They were married for 47 years and had four sons and one daughter.

He was a farmer and also worked as a foreman with the U.S. Forest Service for 22 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly he enjoyed his gardens. He could grow anything, however, I always thought he did best with peanuts and watermelons.

Noel could be a tough man. His fuse wasn't terribly long, and it was Katie-bar-the-door when he blew. He could also be a fun loving man. His pleasures were country music, dancing, and playing his guitar to unwind.

Noel Douglas Mills died Monday, July 13, 1992 at Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford, Mississippi from heart failure.
