YAKIMA - Helen Louise Carlson passed away at Garden Village in Yakima on April 23. She was born March 13, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska to Henry P. and Beda (Anderson) Carlson. She is survived by her husband, Marvin (Bob) Carlson, to whom she was married for nearly 63 years. She is also survived by daughters Charlotte (Fred) Montgomery of Yakima and Beverly (Barry) Eben of Seattle, as well as five grandchildren, Lauren Montgomery, Lisa Alexander, Adriann Alexander, Ellen (Steve) Allmendinger, and Brice (Heidi) Montgomery, and two great grandchildren, Noah Montgomery and Zak Allmendinger. Her brother, Homer "Lefty" Carlson of Yakima survives her. She is survived by sisters- and brothers-in-law, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Melvin Carlson.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest pleasure was found in caring for her family. She provided a warm and inviting home as an accomplished homemaker. Helen was employed for many years as school secretary at Ahtanum Valley Elementary School, where she enjoyed many friendships with faculty, staff, and students. She had a deep and abiding Christian faith, which provided her comfort throughout her life. She was very active in the Wiley Heights Covenant church and in the Wiley Heights community where she was raised and lived most of her life.

Her brother Homer "Lefty" Carlson is buried at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima County.
