Bates Funeral Set Tuesday
Beloved Pike County Woman Will Be Buried in Roberts Cemetery

Funeral service for Mrs. Wilma Anna Williams Bates, 33, will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning at the Roberts cemetery with the Rev. Ellis Wells officiating and she will be laid to rest in the Roberts cemetery.
Mrs. Bates passed away Sunday at 8:45 o’clock in the evening at her home on Magnolia Route 3. She was born in October, 1910, at Osyka.
The passing of Mrs. Bates is mourned throughout the county by sorrowing friends and loved ones.
She leave a son, Ray Otis Bates, four daughters, Anna Mae Bates, Wilma Louise Bates, Bessie Lee Bates, and Carol Jean Bates, of Osyka; five brothers, Earl Williams of Kentwood, Curtis Williams of Baton Rouge, Ray Williams, and Alton Williams of the U.S. Army and Hulett Williams, of Osyka.
Catchings Magnolia Funeral Home was in charge.

Last rites were said Tuesday, January 11 at 11 a.m. for Mrs. Wilma Annie Bates at the Roberts Cemetery with the Rev. Ellis Wells conducting and the Rev Thurman Booth assisting. Mrs. Bates passed away at her home near Magnolia at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, January 9, at the age of 33 years.
Mrs. Wilma Williams was born on October 17, 1910. She is survived by her husband, Enos Bates; by one son, Ray Otis Bates; by four daughers, Annie Mae, Louise Wilma, Bessie Lee and Carol Jean Bates; by three sisters, Mrs. Charlie Lindsey, Mrs. Percy Johnson and Mrs. Wilford Zeigler, all of Kentwood; by five brothers, Curtis Williams, Baton Rouge; Earl Williams, Kentwood; Hullett Williams, Osyka, Ray and Aldon Williams, both of the U.S. Army; and by her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Williams, Osyka.
Interment was in the Roberts Cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of services.
