Jennie Aberson, 87, or Orange City died Wednesday, August 3, in a hospital in Orange City.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 5, at First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Frank Snuttjer and the Rev. Robert Vander Schaaf officiated. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery at Alton.

Born Jennie Geurink July 27,1901, in Orange City, she married Bert Aberson December 23, 1924, in Orange City. The couple farmed near Orange City until 1964 when they retired and moved into town. He died November 17, 1973, in Orange City. She became a resident of Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn May 3, 1988.

She was a member of First Reformed Church.

Survivors include three sons, John of Hospers, and Gilbert and William, both of Orange City; six daughters, Wilmina Cleveringa of Alton, Betty Engeltjes of Leota, Minnesota, Jeane Van Veldhuizen of Sanborn, Shirley Van Veldhuizen of Reading, Minnesota, Joan Dykstra of Archer and Esther Van Den Berg of Rock Valley.
