Theosophist. A pioneer esotericist, she first introduced knowledge of eastern religions to the West - including the ideas of karma and reincarnation. In 1875, she founded the Theosophical Society and launched the Theosophical Movement calling her message Theosophy. She was the author of several massive books including "Isis Unveiled" (over 1300 pages) and "The Secret Doctrine" (over 1500 pages). According to the Theosophical Society, her ashes were divided between New York, London, and India (where the ashes are interred under her statue in Adyar).
